NAKED SPUR

Jimmy Stewart

IT'S BACKGROUND

The Naked Spur was first tied by my fellow club member Jimmy Stewart from Inverness in 2007 and has been gaining a bit of a reputation since for both wild browns and rainbows. It was christened on Loch Ruthven and has featured heavily on the Orkney competition scene since early 2008 where it acquired it's name, "Naked Spur" was the title of a film that featured the actor James Stewart. It was first used by Billy Thomson who was given one by Jimmy and word soon got around of it's effectiveness on the local trout. Like many patterns it has been tweeked a few times and several variations can be found in many a locals box. One for the top dropper whether on a cortland camo or a DI 7, oh and hang it for as long as possible at the boat, you have been warned
